The met presents more exhibitions than any art museum in the world with more than 30 exhibitions each year representing a wide range of artists, eras, and cultures. Curatorial curatorial departments study, exhibit, and care for over two million objects in the met collection. On march 18, 2016, the metropolitan museum of art opened the met breuer, a space dedicated to modern and contemporary art.

Located just off the main hall of the met cloisters, the met store presents unique gifts, jewelry, home decor, and more inspired by the art, architecture, and gardens of medieval europe.
